I'm 51 next month and I need to loose some 'winter weight'. Truth be told, I ate like an idiot since last September and gained 30+ pounds. The weight gain has kept me sick for much of that time.
I use to be a marathon runner and could eat everything I wanted and as much as I wanted and never really gained more than 10 extra pounds. It's different now.
I've been using kettlebells for some time now, a year or so, but I can't outswing a bad diet. So here I am working the Elimination diet.
The working out has been the hardest and has definitely taken a step back. I workout every day. I had been working on running...doesn't come naturally to me at all...but I've been trying to consistently run every day. I had a goal to run/hike/walk 100 miles in April. I was cruisin thru the first part of April, but have slowed down a lot in the last 17 days. I think I might still make it, but it will be more longer walks than the shorter sprints that I've been working on.
No secret tricks...just renewed commitment. For me, that is what I think it is going to be. I don't know if I'm really going to feel better, but I'm determined to just see it thru.
You've run marathons. You'll do great. One day at a time is a good way to do it.
Hi Guy: I jumped on to see if any new exciting ideas. I'm on day 17. It's still a bit of a tough travel. There are some items that I know I have long term dependency on that I have eliminated for 17 days. I still can't say I feel great, but I'm trying to be persistent. I still have headaches. My energy level is totally depleated. But again, I'd like to go the full time period to give it my best and see if I can start feeling good and full of energy. Best of luck to you.
